A 25-year-old otherwise healthy male suffered blunt ocular trauma, following which he developed rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. There were pigments deposited on the posterior lenticular surface in a ring-shaped fashion [Figure 1]a and [Figure 1]b. Careful slit illumination examination showed Berger's space expansion, and deposition of pigments at the margin of that space [Figure 1]c and [Figure 1]d. The ring represents Shaffer's sign pigments. We have described the ring as “pseudo-Vossius” as it is present on the posterior lenticular surface, and forms because of retinal pigment epithelium cells, as compared to a true “Vossius” ring, which is present on the anterior lenticular surface and related to iris impaction and its pigments post blunt trauma.
