Iatrogenic lens pseudo-coloboma following trabeculectomy

A 1-year-old bupthalmic child[1] [Haab's striae: blue arrow, [Figure 1] operated for trabeculectomy had lens notching visible through surgical iridectomy [Figure 1]. Zonules were absent in the area of lens notching, though present in the adjacent area [red arrows, [Figure 1]]. A diagnosis of post-trabeculectomy lens pseudo-coloboma was made, the cause of lens notching being the iatrogenic cutting of corresponding zonules during trabeculectomy (location of lens notching being exactly behind the surgical iridectomy). | Figure 1: Buphthalmic right eye with superonasal surgical iridectomy.
